Rediscovering Our Revolutionary Tradition

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is accepting applications for the Rediscovering Our Revolutionary Tradition program, which aims to preserve and improve access to primary source materials documenting the history of America's founding era and government. The program supports activities such as conservation, digitization, transcription, and translation, and updating existing digital resources. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, institutions of higher education, state and local governments, and federally recognized Native American Tribal governments. Awards will be made in two categories: Individual Institution (up to $350,000 for two years) and Consortium (up to $750,000 for three years). Key aspects of the project include: • Providing conservation treatment and rehousing of primary source materials • Digitizing collections and making them available for public use • Transcribing or translating primary source materials • Updating previously digitized resources to improve access and preserve digital surrogates • Developing indexes, databases, or other project-specific digital resources The program's outcome will be the preservation of and improved access to primary source materials that support understanding of America's founding era and government.
