Chimney Masonry Repair

The Wilmette Park District is seeking bids for chimney masonry repair. The scope of work includes repairing motor joints, tuckpointing with ASTM C270 Type N mortar, and cleaning and coating the exterior surface of steel tension bands. The project is expected to involve approximately 600 SF of work above the 75’-0 level and 200 SF below the 70’-0 level. The key aspects of the project include: • Repairing mortar joints between the 95’-0 level and the 75’-0 level • Tuckpointing with ASTM C270 Type N mortar • Cleaning and coating the exterior surface of steel tension bands • Installing sealant at the top edge of each band to prevent moisture infiltration The bidder should have experience in masonry repair and be able to provide the necessary equipment and personnel to complete the project.
