Legacy Woods Stormwater Wetland – Contract A

The City of West Des Moines is seeking bids for the construction of a stormwater wetland and streambank stabilization along Jordan Creek. The project includes earthwork excavation, storm sewer structures and pipes, sidewalk paving, limestone outcropping access points to the wetland and stream, native plantings, and all other associated work. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price. • The project is expected to commence within 10 days of the written notice to proceed and shall be completed by August 28, 2026. • Liquidated damages in the amount of $200 per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. • The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all technicalities and/or all irregularities. • The bid security submitted should be made payable to the City of West Des Moines, Iowa, and not contain any conditions either in the body or as an endorsement thereon. • The successful bidder will be required to provide a guarantee of maintenance of the improvement in the form of surety for a period of four years from the time of acceptance by the City.
