The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) is seeking information from vendors experienced in implementing and maintaining an online educator credentialing, preparation, and investigation/case management system. The system should be able to serve internal CDE users and educators seeking licensure, as well as provide support for the look-up of educators by internal users and the public. The system should also be able to handle large quantities of personally identifiable information from educators and ensure confidentiality and security. The CDE is considering a Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) or Modified-Off-the-Shelf (MOTS) or Software as a Service (SaaS) solution.
Some key features of the system include:
• Online educator credentialing, preparation, and investigation/case management
• Support for the look-up of educators by internal users and the public
• Handling of large quantities of personally identifiable information from educators
• Ensuring confidentiality and security of the system
• Integration with external systems such as the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC)
• Migration of existing licensure content from the current system
