Default Resolution Agent Services Education Debt

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service is seeking industry input on a draft solicitation for default resolution agent services for education debt. The purpose of this request for information is to obtain input on the draft solicitation and related questions. The information is being sought solely for market research and acquisition planning purposes. The scope of work includes collecting delinquent, nontax debts owed to the United States, specifically defaulted student loans. The contractor will be responsible for providing Cross-Servicing services on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education for student loans in a defaulted status. Some key aspects of the job include: • Collecting defaulted student loans, • Providing debt collection services, • Using electronic formats and transfer protocols to automate, centralize, and transmit inbound and outbound files, • Ensuring Government data is stored and encrypted securely, • Complying with consumer protection laws. The contractor must have experience in collecting federal and/or state debts, and must demonstrate a record of compliance with consumer protection laws.
