Description
The Town of Betterton is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Bayside Boulevard Foot Bridge Restoration Project. The project involves the rehabilitation of a 100-foot-long pedestrian footbridge with a 5-foot-wide wood deck supported by a steel truss structure. The work includes surface preparation and coating of exposed steel members and railings, replacement of the wood decking system, and other related tasks. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to complete the work in accordance with the specifications and contract documents.
• The footbridge is located in the Town's waterfront area and is used by both residents and visitors.
• The existing protective coating system has deteriorated and requires rehabilitation to prevent future corrosion.
• The existing wooden decking has reached the end of its service life and requires replacement.
• The project is intended to preserve and protect the existing structure through preventive maintenance and rehabilitation.
