VASNHCS Police Psychological Assessments

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive psychological evaluation services for VA Police Officer applicants and incumbents. The contractor will conduct pre-employment, annual, and directed/special examinations to assess the officers' emotional and mental stability, as well as their suitability to carry firearms and perform essential job functions. The contractor must have expertise in clinical and personnel assessment, be familiar with VA policies, and knowledgeable in relevant employment law. The evaluation components include authorization forms, interviews, and psychological testing. The contractor must submit a thorough recommendation report detailing the officer's psychological fitness. • The contractor must be licensed in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia. • The contractor must have expertise in clinical assessment and the assessment of normal personality characteristics relevant to personnel selection. • The contractor must be familiar with VA policies relevant to the evaluation and selection of Police Officers. • The contractor must be knowledgeable in employment law impacting the administration of these types of personnel evaluations. • The contractor must conduct evaluations in accordance with the guidelines designed to determine an officer's emotional and mental stability. • The contractor must provide all required psychological assessment services for incumbent VA Police officers employed by the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System.
