Mental Health Peer Specialist Services

The Multnomah County Department of Health/Behavioral Health Division is seeking to qualify agencies to provide peer services, peer training, peer led education and technical assistance designed to support youth, families, and adult peers. The funding for these services is an approximate total of $2,500,000 annually over five years for all the service components listed below. The services include peer-delivered services, peer support specialist training, peer led education, and peer brokerage services. The goal is to support individuals and families in engaging in ongoing treatment and living successfully in the community. • Peer-delivered services: community-based services and support provided by peers, and peer support specialists, to individuals or family members with similar lived experience. • Peer support specialist training: training for peer support specialists to provide support to individuals with mental health challenges. • Peer led education: education and support for individuals with mental health challenges, led by peers who have experienced living with behavioral health challenges. • Peer brokerage services: services that work with both recovery planning/support and housing support through peer services. The services will be culturally responsive, intersectional, and trauma-informed, and will utilize an equity lens to reduce system barriers and improve service delivery.
