The Municipality of Skagway is constructing a new Solid Waste Transfer Facility on a 15‑acre site at the east side of the Dyea Road/Klondike Highway intersection. The contract covers full site preparation, a pre‑engineered metal building, concrete foundations, ramps, and landings, installation of solid‑waste balers, crushers, conveyors, and two vehicle scales, as well as associated utilities (water, sewer, storm‑drain, electrical, fire protection) and site security (chain‑link fence with rolling gates). The work must comply with Alaska labor standards, Davis‑Bacon prevailing‑wage rules, and local weather considerations, with a substantial completion target of early April 2024 and final completion by the end of April 2024. • Full‑scope civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and waste‑handling equipment installation. • Mandatory pre‑bid meeting (April 20 2023) and sealed‑bid submission (April 26 2023). • Fixed‑price, lump‑sum contract with liquidated damages of $1,500 per day for late completion.
