Description

The County of Nevada is seeking applications for the Outdoor Visitor Safety Fund Round #2, which aims to implement high-impact projects that promote public safety, public health, equitable access to recreation opportunities, economic development, and environmental sustainability. The fund will support projects located at major trailheads and river crossings in Nevada County, such as the South Yuba River destinations, snow-play areas on Highway 80 near Donner Summit, and major trailheads throughout the county. The proposed projects should be "shovel-ready" and align with existing planning documents, including the County General Plan elements, Recreation plans, and area plans. The evaluation criteria include entity description, COVID impacts, project description, community benefit, leveraging partnerships and resources, management capacity and measurable outcomes, and budget and financials. The total score for each proposal will be based on the evaluation criteria, and the top-ranked entities will be selected for funding.
