Roof Replacement for the Children Services Administration Building

The Summit County Administrative Services- Physical Plants Department is requesting bids for the roof replacement for the Children Services Administration Building. The existing shingle roof will be removed and replaced with a new dimensional shingle roof with a 30-year warranty. The estimated cost is not to exceed $240,000.00, and the contract amount is not to exceed $156,350.00. The work hours permitted for this project will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and a background check will be required for all workers on this project. • The contractor will have to provide temporary bathroom facilities for the workers. • The main entrance to the building must remain open at all times. • Dumpsters, cranes, and dump trucks will be permitted on site for debris removal. • The drawings of the building elevations are added to the bidding documents for information. • The flashing that connects the flat roof to the shingle roof at the west end of the building will be replaced as a part of this project. • The peak flashing at the perimeter of the mechanical equipment area will be removed and reused after the installation of the new shingles. • The expansion joints where the shingle roofs butt up against masonry walls will be replaced as a part of this project. • The alternate for metal open valleys will include an 18" strip of self-adhering sheet underlayment on both sides of the metal valley before the installation of the shingles.
