Description
The Westwood Community School District is seeking a qualified contractor to perform a partial roof replacement at Thorne Elementary School (25251 Annapolis St., Dearborn Heights, MI). The work includes removal of existing roofing, inspection and repair/replacement of decking (gypsum, metal, and concrete sections), installation of new insulation, new waterproofing membranes (VersiPly 40 base sheet, StressBase 80, StressPly Plus, HPR Torch Base, etc.), installation of flashing, copings, drains, and a flood coat of coal‑tar pitch. Garland, Inc. will supply roofing materials under a separate contract; the contractor must provide quantity estimates and store the materials on‑site until mobilization. The project must be completed no later than August 15 2027, with the award expected by November 19 2026.
• Scope: Remove existing roof, replace deteriorated decking, install new insulation and multi‑ply modified roofing system.
• Materials: Garland‑supplied roofing membranes, insulation, metal decking, wood blocking, drains, flashing, copings, and a coal‑tar flood coat.
