Long View Road Water Transmission Main Extension

The Long View Road Water Transmission Main Extension project involves the construction of a 16-inch PVC water transmission main to provide 3,000 gpm for fire protection and allow an additional 500 gpm for growth and economic development in and around the Rapid City Airport. The project consists of approximately 11,000 feet of 16-inch water main and associated appurtenances. The contract was awarded to five vendors: Sitework Specialists, Inc., Rapid Construction, Inc., R.C.S. Construction, Inc., Mainline Contracting, Inc., and Highmark, Inc. The bid summary document lists the base bids for each vendor, ranging from $1,856,566.00 to $2,351,000.00. • The project is based on the July 2009 report titled "Final Water Supply Study Rapid City Regional Airport, Rapid City, South Dakota" by KLJ and AE2S. • The project will provide redundancy by looping the distribution system. • A pre-bid conference was held on March 24, 2015, at 3:30 PM EDT. • The bid submission date was March 31, 2015, at 4:00 PM EDT.
