The City of Palm Bay is seeking vendors to provide biosolids transportation and disposal services. The services include transporting dewatered biosolids from the North Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant to a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) approved disposal site. The vendor will be responsible for providing labor, trucks, and dump trailers suitable for hauling the dewatered biosolids. The estimated volume of biosolids to be transported and disposed is 7,500 cubic yards per year. The contract will be awarded to the vendor that submits the lowest bid price. Some key points to consider include:
• The biosolids are classified as Class "B" as defined in the State of Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 62-640.0.
• The vendor must provide a driver to remove the loaded trailer from the treatment facility and transport it to an FDEP approved disposal site.
• The vendor must schedule for a minimum of one load per day, Monday through Friday, and be available to haul on all holidays.
• The City makes no guarantee as to the minimum or maximum volume of biosolids to be produced.
• The vendor will be responsible for providing or making acceptable arrangements for loading during dewatering operations.
