Canal System and Park Aquatic Maintenance Services

The contract is for the provision of canal system and park aquatic maintenance services, including canal slope mowing, canal maintenance, and park aquatic area maintenance. The contract is awarded to two vendors: SFM Landscape Services, Inc. for canal slope mowing and maintenance services, and DeAngelo Brothers LLC dba Aquagenix for park aquatic management services. The contract is for an initial term of three years with two one-year options to renew. The services include aesthetic above surface debris removal, algae and aquatic weed control, border grass and brush control to water's edge, water testing, bacteria testing, aquatics consulting, management reporting, and biological control agent permit applications. • The contract includes an additional services menu for culvert cleaning, mechanical harvesting, herbicide treatment, flat fee for on-site assessment of obstruction removal and aquatic management services on an as-needed basis at various pocket parks. • The contract is funded by the Canal Maintenance line-item in the Stormwater Utility Fund and the Repair & Maintenance-Grounds line-item in the General Fund. • The vendors are required to have a minimum of three years of experience performing aquatic maintenance services and possess a valid Pest/Herbicide applicator certification issued by the State of Florida, Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
