AVTEC Power Plant Training Facility 2024 Upgrade Project

This contract upgrades the Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) power plant training facility in Seward, Alaska. The awardee will demolish existing diesel generator equipment, install an owner‑furnished diesel engine‑generator and charge‑air cooler, and perform a comprehensive electrical and control‑systems renovation—including a major switchgear controls upgrade, PLC programming, and SCADA integration. The scope also covers mechanical modifications, testing & commissioning, and close‑out documentation, with a one‑year warranty on equipment and control performance. • Demolition of existing genset and associated mechanical/electrical systems. • Installation of new owner‑supplied diesel generator and charge‑air cooler with full mechanical‑electrical integration. • Upgrade of prime‑power switchgear controls, addition of PLCs, and optional SCADA system (alternate). • Required testing, commissioning, and a one‑year warranty; work must be substantially complete by 20 Nov 2024 and fully completed by 10 Jan 2025.
