Professional Learning for Writing Instruction K-6

The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) is seeking a vendor to provide professional learning experiences in writing instruction best practices for Elementary Educators, Instructional Coaches, and USBE Early Learning staff. The selected vendor will provide training to increase effective writing instruction, with a focus on Utah's K-6 writing standards and the USBE Strategic Plan. The contract has a total available budget of $95,000.00 and a timeframe of all deliverables by June 30, 2025. Key aspects of the contract include: • Professional learning for a cohort of up to 110 Elementary Educators, Instructional Coaches, and USBE Early Learning staff • A complete, detailed training structure and schedule that includes approximately 3-6 trainings during the performance period • Metrics for success, with a focus on increasing educator capacity for effective writing instruction • Trainings aligned with Utah's Professional Learning Standards, Utah's K-6 writing standards, and the USBE Strategic Plan • Presentations provided to USBE staff for content review prior to each session • Professional learning that incorporates in-depth learning of effective writing instruction, the Science of Reading, personalized learning, and adult learning principles.
