The Department of Veterans Affairs (VISN 5) is issuing an intent to award a sole‑source contract for “Compass Router” maintenance and support. The contract will cover all Compass Router systems at six VA medical facilities in Maryland, West Virginia and Washington, DC. Laurel Bridge Software, Inc. is the only authorized provider of the proprietary software updates, patches, and break‑fix services required. Vendors may submit a capability statement (not a formal proposal) to indicate interest, but the Government intends to award the contract directly to the authorized source. The period of performance is one base year (10/1/2026‑9/30/2027) with four optional one‑year extensions, for a total potential duration of five years.
• Scope: full‑service support – labor, break‑fix, software updates, vulnerability remediation for all Compass Router systems.
• Locations: VA Maryland Healthcare System (Baltimore, MD) and five VA Medical Centers in WV and DC.
• Sole‑source justification: only Laurel Bridge Software holds the proprietary rights and expertise.
• Response requirement: capability statement due 09/01/2026 1:00 PM EST (or optionally by 08/20/2026) sent to Contracting Officer Amy Walter (email only).
• No competitive bidding, no telephone inquiries, and no guarantee of award beyond the sole‑source determination.
