NOME, FORMER FAA STATION REMEDIAL ACTION AND REMEDIAL INVESTIGATION

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking a contractor to perform remedial action, demolition, and groundwater monitoring at the former Nome FAA Station. The contractor will be responsible for reviewing existing soil and sediment sample results, conducting investigations to define the magnitude and extent of contamination, and excavating and transporting contaminated soil for disposal or treatment. The contractor must comply with all applicable laws, codes, regulations, and guidance. Some key tasks include: • Reviewing existing soil sample results and conducting an investigation to define the magnitude and extent of PCB contamination in soil at CT Pond 3 • Reviewing existing sediment sample results and conducting an investigation to define the magnitude and extent of lead contamination in soil at CT Ponds 2 • Collecting subsurface soil samples via test pits or soil borings to delineate DRO, PAH, and VOC exceedances • Decommissioning monitoring wells due to substantial frostjacking • Reviewing existing subsurface soil sample results and UVOST probes and conducting an investigation to define the magnitude and extent of hydrocarbon contamination in soil at CT Bldg 403 • Excavating and transporting up to 2,150 tons of contaminated soil for disposal or treatment The FAA is requesting capability statements from interested small business vendors, which should include relevant experience on similar projects, company information, and point of contact details.
