Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract to Biolog

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a Sole Source firm-fixed price commercial Purchase Order to Biolog Inc. for the purchase of an Integrated Dual-Mode Microbial Phenotypic Analysis System. This system is uniquely capable of integrating with the FDA's existing phenotypic microarray plates and validated workflows. The FDA has determined that Biolog is the only manufacturer that can meet their requirements. • The system must be able to measure redox respiration and optical density growth kinetics. • The system must be compatible with proprietary phenotypic microarray plates currently in use. • The acquisition is being conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR RFO Part 12. • Other firms may submit a capability statement to be considered, but the FDA has already determined that Biolog is the only manufacturer that can meet their requirements.
