The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities in Alaska is implementing seasonal weight restrictions on various state-maintained roads in the Central Region. The restrictions will be effective from June 1, 2026, and will apply to different areas, including Anchorage, Eagle River, Girdwood, Matanuska-Susitna, Kenai Peninsula, Bethel, and Dillingham. The weight restrictions range from 50% to 100% of the legal axle load, with some roads allowing 100% legal axle loads for approved Long Combination Vehicles.
* The weight restrictions will be enforced by the DOT&PF Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.
* Questions regarding overweight and oversized load permits can be directed to the DOT&PF MSCVC Customer Service Center.
* The restrictions are subject to change based on weather and pavement conditions.
* An electronic copy of the weight restriction notices is available online.
