Description
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing an in situ benthic algae measurement instrument. The instrument should have the capability to measure benthic algae on substrate within waterbodies without sample preparation requirements. The key characteristics of the instrument include:
• Measurement range: 0-15 ug chl-a/cm2
• Resolution: 0.1 ug chl-a/cm2
• Ability to differentiate green algae, cyanobacteria, and diatoms
• Built-in instrument display
• Datalogger function
The USGS is seeking responses from responsible sources that can provide a brochure and/or technical specifications detailing the ability of their product to meet the salient characteristics.
