SBU/Melville library Temporary Steel Shoring

The State University of New York at Stony Brook is seeking a qualified contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services needed to install temporary steel shoring and protective bollards for the Melville Library’s deflected box beam. The work includes removing existing compromised supports, installing new steel shoring posts, beams, and ten steel bollards, and ensuring compliance with NYS prevailing‑wage, OSHA 10‑hour safety, and recycling requirements. Delivery is FOB Destination with all debris removal and campus parking coordination handled by the contractor. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder and must be performed within 90 days of notice to proceed. • Install new steel shoring posts and beams to temporarily support the spalling box beam. • Install ten steel bollards to protect the shoring system. • Provide all required labor, equipment, and materials, complying with NYS prevailing‑wage and OSHA 10‑hour certifications. • Manage site logistics, including unloading, installation, testing, debris removal, and campus parking permits.
