DESIGN SERVICES POST OFFICE SQUARE

The City of Bridgeport is seeking design services for the Post Office Square Project, a 0.76-acre community green space in Downtown North. The project aims to create a resilient, multi-use public space that supports local ecosystems, strengthens local businesses, and fosters social connectivity. The selected consultant will provide design services, including community engagement, site survey, detailed design, and construction documentation. The project has a budget and will be funded in part by the Connecticut Communities Challenge grant and City capital. Key features of the project include: • Integration of nature-based design strategies, including green infrastructure and climate resilience measures • Accommodation of mixed community uses, such as recreation, cultural programming, and small business opportunities • Consideration of community input collected throughout the engagement process • Provision of public space amenities, including rain gardens, incubator spaces, public art, and food truck infrastructure • Emphasis on sustainability, equity, and connectivity, aligning with the City's Plan Bridgeport and other planning goals
