Request for Qualifications - Federal Lobbying

The City of Valdez is seeking a qualified firm to provide federal lobbying services. The selected firm will be responsible for assisting the City in achieving its articulated federal priorities and goals. The scope of work includes federal appropriations and strategy, advocacy and legislative engagement, travel and meeting coordination, and Washington, D.C. representation. The firm will be required to submit a statement of qualifications, which will be evaluated based on factors such as firm experience, key personnel, fly-in coordination, and overall proposal. • The City of Valdez is a remote coastal city with a diverse port industry and a population of approximately 3800. • The City is seeking a firm with experience in municipal lobbying, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, public safety, housing, transportation, energy, and resilience. • The selected firm will be required to work closely with the City Manager and City Council to develop a funding strategy and advocate for the City's interests in Washington, D.C. • The firm will be expected to provide biweekly update meetings and written semiannual reports to the City Council. • The City encourages disadvantaged, minority, and women-owned consultant firms to respond to this request for qualifications.
