Rental Heat Exchanger

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is seeking to lease a steam-to-fluid heat exchanger and associated components. The system must include a steam to fluid heat exchanger, temperature, pressure, and flow monitoring capability, and safety, control, and isolation valves. The system must be frame/skid mounted with fork truck pockets and lifting pad eyes, with a footprint no greater than 8 FT x 8 FT and a maximum weight of 4000 LB. The key requirements of the heat exchanger include: • Minimum heat output of 1.2 MMBH at a freshwater flowrate of 100 GPM • Freshwater inlet temperature will be approximately 44°F, and the required freshwater outlet temperature will be approximately 110°F • Supplied steam will be saturated at a pressure of approximately 100 PSI at the point of supply • Steam inlet must be adapted to accept two, 1 ½” threaded ground joint connections • Condensate drain line must be fitted with a steam trap rated to a minimum 150 PSI • Freshwater inlet and outlet must be adapted to accept 2 ½” cam and groove quick disconnect connections • Freshwater inlet and outlet must be fitted with 2 ½” isolation valves made of non-ferrous metals The contractor is responsible for maintaining a stringent maintenance program, providing repair service within 12 hours of notification, and delivering a replacement at no extra charge if the machine cannot be returned to service within 24 hours.
