The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking vendors to design, manufacture, deliver, install, and sustain Remote Tower Systems (RTS) for deployment within the National Airspace System (NAS). The goal of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to identify vendors capable and willing to undergo the RTS System Design Approval (SDA) process. The FAA intends to purchase up to 50 RTS units over a five-year period, contingent on the outcomes of this proposal request.
• The RTS must meet the RT Technical Requirements, including system design, software, and hardware documentation, as well as safety and security requirements.
• Vendors must demonstrate production capacity sufficient to support delivery of up to 50 units over five years.
• The FAA will evaluate proposals using a best-value tradeoff approach, considering technical approach and cost/price.
• The anticipated period of performance is five years, supporting phased deployment of up to 50 RTS units.
