Description
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Hanford Field Office (HFO), is seeking construction services for an Advanced Modular Pretreatment System. The system is intended to support the retrieval and treatment of Hanford's tank waste and closure of the Tank Farms. The project involves managing mixed radioactive waste stored in 177 underground tanks at the Hanford Site, which contains approximately 54 million gallons of waste.
• The waste consists of solids (sludge), liquids (supernate), and saltcake (salts formed through evaporation processes).
• The project aims to safeguard the Columbia River.
• The DOE is dedicated to retrieving and treating Hanford's tank waste and closing the Tank Farms.
