Replace Roofs – Basic Science Building

The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Replace Roofs- Basic Science Building project at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. The Basic Science Building, constructed in 1956, is an eight-story building with a roof area of approximately 53,000 square feet. It has multiple EPDM roofing systems that are beyond their useful life and a ballasted roof installed in 2012. The Project will replace the EPDM roof systems at the Basic Science Building and provide repair work to the ballasted roof. Work includes full removal and replacement of the EPDM roof, installation of new parapets and fall protections and rooftop mechanical equipment. The new roofing system will comply with current energy codes, and any hazardous materials encountered will be abated. The construction value is estimated to be approximately $8,044,000.
