Description
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is seeking qualified contractors to replace the existing generator at the Alexander City Tower. The work is a turnkey installation that includes removal of the existing unit, supply and installation of a new 8‑10 kW propane‑operated generator with an automatic transfer switch, related electrical and fuel‑line work, testing, and training of ALEA personnel. The contract is awarded to the lowest responsible bidder and must meet all federal, state, local, and OSHA regulations.
• Remove and dispose of the existing generator, disconnect power, and secure the site.
• Supply and install a new 8‑10 kW propane generator, ATS (NEMA 1R or 3R, 100 A, 240 V), propane connections, exterior lighting, and all required wiring and grounding.
• Perform testing, startup, and provide training to ALEA staff; final payment withheld until satisfactory completion and inspection.
• Contractor must hold Alabama business license, electrical contractor license, and plumber/gas‑fitter license; provide three commercial references; carry $2 M general liability insurance and workers’ compensation.
• Mandatory pre‑bid conference and site visit on June 11 2026; questions due by June 30 2026; bid submission deadline July 20 2026.
