Description

The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) is seeking sources to support the Applied Science, Systems Engineering and Space Science Support (ASSESSS) Program. The program requires specialized engineering, science, and technology capabilities to support the development of current and future global space, missile defense, and high-altitude capabilities. The scope of work includes conducting fundamental technology research, technology insertion planning and execution, and developing research and engineering strategies for mitigation of risk in defense systems and technology programs. Some key areas of focus include: • Strategic systems test and evaluation • Space science and engineering • Combat systems and guided missiles • Information technology (C4ISR/IO) • Simulation, modeling, and operations analysis • Mission-related and public-service oriented research, technology development, test, evaluation, and system analysis The USASMDC intends to issue a sole source contract to Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU APL) as a University Affiliated Research Center (UARC). However, the notice is seeking responses from industry to establish interest and identify firms capable of performing the breadth of requirements as a prime contractor.
