Description
The City of Waco is seeking to retain the services of a governmental affairs consultant that possesses significant demonstrable experience in lobbying and advocacy at the State level, particularly the Texas Legislature and Texas State Agencies. The selected consultant will represent the City as trusted advisors, lobbyists, and expert navigators and shall demonstrate strong relationships with members of the Texas State Legislature, representatives of the City, as well as state government staffers in Austin, including governmental agencies, other industry lobbyists, and organizations. The applicant must provide references from other represented municipalities.
Key aspects of the job include:
• Providing lobbying and political advocacy for the City of Waco at the state and local levels
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with members of the Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate and with relevant State agencies
• Representing the City as trusted advisors, lobbyists, and expert navigators
• Demonstrating strong relationships with members of the Texas State Legislature, representatives of the City, as well as state government staffers in Austin, including governmental agencies, other industry lobbyists, and organizations
