Description
The City of Flowery Branch is seeking bids for the construction of the Groundwater Wells 4 & 5 project, which aims to bring two existing wells online to enhance the city's water supply system. The project includes the construction of a chemical feed building, installation of new water mains, and reconditioning of the existing wells. The work will involve traditional development and utility construction within both city right-of-way and property, as well as GDOT rights-of-way. The contractor will be required to coordinate and pay applicable fees to Georgia Power for pole relocations and to Atlanta Gas Light for gas service to the auxiliary power supply.
Key aspects of the project include:
• Construction of a chemical feed building with separate sodium hypochlorite and fluoride rooms, a pipe gallery, and associated well houses
• Installation of new water mains using horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and open-cut trenching methods
• Reconditioning of the existing wells, including the installation of permanent pumps
• Enclosure of all facilities within a secure perimeter fence
• Coordination with Georgia Power and Atlanta Gas Light for pole relocations and gas service
