The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified small businesses that can provide Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) radiocarbon analyses. The USGS needs to acquire radiocarbon analyses of organic material from sediment samples to assess tsunami hazards across Prince William Sound, Alaska. The contractor will perform sample pretreatments, determine the 13C/12C ratio, convert the sample to graphite, and analyze each sample in the accelerator mass spectrometer. The contractor will deliver a written report that lists the results of 13C and 14C analyses and ages.
• The contractor will perform AMS radiocarbon analyses on up to 25 samples in the base year and up to 100 samples in Option Year 1, if available.
• The contractor will provide a written report that includes the results of 13C and 14C analyses and ages.
• The contractor will deliver the report in a format compatible with standard data applications, such as MS Excel.
• The USGS will provide the contractor with samples and will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice.
