Description
The USDA/ARS intends to award a sole source contract for a benchtop clean steam, humidified air, and heated air generator. The unit should have controls for varying temperature, humidity, and flow rate, and should be fully automatic. The contractor must deliver the unit within 120 days after the purchase order is provided. The unit will be used for research work, such as simulating or optimizing conditions in oilseed processing. Key features of the unit include a benchtop design, variable steam temperature and flow rate, and a microprocessor control and display.
Some key features of this opportunity include:
• The unit must be a benchtop design, not to exceed 12” x 20” x 22” (W x H x D)
• The unit must have a switchable function as a precise clean steam generator, humidified, and/or dry air (gas) heater
• The unit must have a 1000-Watt minimum heater
• The unit must have variable steam temperature from 120 to 180 oC
• The unit must have variable steam flow rate from 0 to 50 g/min or 3 kg/h
