Description

The United States Navy is soliciting quotes for the replacement of two Caterpillar heat exchangers. The contractor will be responsible for draining each engine of jacket water, changing each main engine's jacket water heat exchanger, refilling with jacket water with Caterpillar ELC coolant, and testing. The work will be performed at Naval Station Everett in Washington. Key aspects of the job include: • The heat exchangers must be Caterpillar # 449-3089 and must be pressure tested prior to delivery. • The contractor must provide a detailed, unpriced capabilities statement for review and acceptance by the Technical POC. • The contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database to be considered for award. • The Government intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract to the responsible offeror whose quote represents the best value to the Government, considering factors such as price, delivery, technical acceptability, and past performance.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $100,000

The budget for this contract can be estimated based on the type of work and the materials required. The replacement of two Caterpillar heat exchangers is a significant task that requires specialized labor and equipment. Assuming an average cost of $10,000 to $20,000 per heat exchanger, the total cost for the replacement of two heat exchangers could range from $20,000 to $40,000. Additionally, the cost of labor, testing, and other expenses should be factored into the estimate. Considering these factors, a reasonable estimate for the budget for this contract could be between $50,000 and $100,000.
