Description

The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) is seeking information on advanced dermal regeneration substitutes for the treatment of severe burns and complex traumatic injuries. The goal is to identify innovative medical countermeasure technologies that can address large-area skin loss due to thermal burns or traumatic injuries in a mass casualty incident. Respondents are asked to provide information on their qualifications, experience, and capabilities to develop, manufacture, and store advanced dermal regenerative substitutes. The ideal product should support formation of vascularized neodermis, enable integration with host tissue, and provide an effective barrier to microbial infiltration. • The product should be suitable for full-thickness burns, complex traumatic wounds, and large surface area injuries. • It should be ready-to-use or require minimal preparation at the point of care. • The product should have a long shelf life, be stable under a range of storage conditions, and have a scalable manufacturing process. • Respondents should provide evidence of clinical safety and efficacy, regulatory status, and established or plausible reimbursement pathways.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $10,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate because the document does not provide specific information on the contract value or the number of products to be purchased. However, considering the context of the request for information and the potential for future procurement, the budget could be substantial. The development and manufacturing of advanced dermal regeneration substitutes could be a high-value contract, potentially in the range of $1 million to $10 million or more, depending on the scope of the project and the number of products required. The actual budget will depend on various factors, including the complexity of the product, the manufacturing process, and the market demand. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of raw materials, labor, and research and development, as well as the potential for future sales and market expansion.
