Kinship Navigator Programs: Evaluations

The purpose of this funding opportunity is to support the implementation and rigorous evaluation of existing Kinship Navigator Programs (KNPs) that are not currently rated on the Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse. The goal is to increase the number of programs that qualify for federal Title IV-E Kinship Navigator funding by building strong evidence of improved outcomes for kinship caregivers and the children in their care. Key objectives include administering KNP services, collaborative planning, evaluating the KNP, and completing a final evaluation report that demonstrates positive outcomes for kinship families. Eligible applicants include state, local, or tribal child welfare agencies and private nonprofit organizations. • The program requires a 25% cost-sharing contribution from the applicant. • The program will fund a three-year project period with a maximum award amount of $600,000. • The application submission deadline is August 7, 2026. • The expected project start date is September 30, 2026.
