Protestant Religious Services - DRC260091 - LORCI

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Protestant Religious Service Provider to perform as a contract Chaplain at Lorain Correctional Institution. The contract term will continue through June 30, 2027, with potential for annual renewals. The contractor will be expected to work 30-35 hours per week and provide services such as conducting weekly Protestant worship services, providing religious study or education classes, and general pastoral care to protestant inmates. Key responsibilities include: • Conducting weekly Protestant worship services • Providing religious study or education classes • Providing general pastoral care to protestant inmates • Attending the Annual Religious Service meeting • Making referrals for inmates to appropriate services • Distribution of religious literature and/or conducting of religious programs • Assisting the Chaplain in appropriate duties and/or conducting religious programs • Performing holiday services. The ideal candidate will have a License to Preach and/or Certificate of Ordination, and current Ecclesiastical Endorsement by sponsoring denomination, with preferred completion of some units of training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
