Description
The City of Austin Transportation Public Works Department is seeking quotes for the procurement of 36” Surface Mounted White Flex Posts for the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic materials throughout the city. The contractor shall have a minimum of three years of experience supplying flex post delineator products to an agency similar in size and scope to the City of Austin. The contractor shall provide the flex posts, which shall meet specific material specifications and be capable of sustaining a minimum of fifty direct wheel-over and bumper impacts at 60 MPH without damage. The contractor shall also provide a warranty for a period of one year from the date of purchase covering breakage of the posts. Key tasks include delivering the flex posts within 30 calendar days after the order is placed, providing a shipping or delivery ticket with each delivery, and confirming the quantity to be shipped on all orders within two hours of notification from the City.
• The contractor shall provide flex posts that meet specific material specifications, including being constructed of UV-stabilized thermo-plastic polyurethane (TPU) and having a minimum specific gravity of 1.10.
• The contractor shall provide bases that meet specific material specifications, including being constructed of a UV-stable high-impact thermo-plastic styrenic alloy and having a minimum specific gravity of 1.02.
• The contractor shall provide reflective sheeting that meets State specifications for reflectivity and is applied to the posts in a specific manner.
• The contractor shall provide a warranty for a period of one year from the date of purchase covering breakage of the posts.
• The contractor shall provide documentation of impact testing conducted by an independent testing facility certified by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).
