The Borough of Haines is seeking contractors to provide comprehensive snow‑removal services for the Historic Dalton Trail and the Eagle Vista Subdivision, including optional spring opening of a segment of Chilkat Lake Road. Work is performed on a lump‑sum, per‑job basis and must meet Alaska DOT sand specifications and prevailing‑wage requirements. The contract is initially effective upon signature and runs until April 30 of the designated year, with possible one‑year extensions up to a three‑year total term.
• Snow plowing on Eagle Vista Subdivision roads when snow depth reaches 8 inches, with first three plows full‑width and subsequent plows minimum 15 ft (or 24 ft where possible).
• Ice and hard‑packed snow removal, and sanding where directed, using sand meeting Table 703‑11 gradation.
• Optional 15‑ft lane opening on the final two miles of Chilkat Lake Road by May 1 for spring access, with a separate lump‑sum quote.
