Description
The County is seeking qualified contractors to perform a comprehensive pedestrian‑friendly upgrade of South Rockbridge Road. Work includes earthwork, curb and gutter installation, concrete flat work, asphalt paving, concrete structures, storm‑drain pipe placement, sidewalk construction, striping, new traffic signals, and a fiber‑optic detection system for pedestrians and vehicles. Bidders must submit two sealed copies, a 5 % bid bond, and be prepared to furnish 100 % performance and payment bonds as well as insurance meeting an A‑M Best rating of A‑8 or higher. Plans are available for purchase at $50 each. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bid, subject to the County’s right to reject or split bids.
• 0.765 mi of roadway improvement with multiple material quantities (≈20 k CY earthwork, 10,527 LF curb/gutter, 12,195 SY concrete, 380 TN asphalt, 116 CY concrete structures, 3,379 TN storm‑drain pipe).
• Mandatory 5 % bid bond; 100 % performance and payment bonds required after award.
• Purchase of full plans set ($50) from Atlas Technical Consultants; submission deadline June 4 2026 2:50 PM.
