Description
The project involves the extension of the northbound acceleration lane and removal of ramps on I-81 at Showalter Road in Washington County, Maryland. The work includes base widening, curb and gutter construction, traffic barrier upgrades, removal of interchange ramps, full depth pavement, stormwater management facilities, milling and resurfacing, maintenance of traffic, erosion and sediment control, signing and pavement marking, lighting, and landscaping. The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration and has a total length of improvement of 0.32 miles on I-81 and 0.36 miles on Showalter Road. The successful bidder will be required to supply payment and performance bonds for contracts exceeding $100,000. Key aspects of the project include:
