Single Rope Technique Training Instructor Services

The City of Cleveland, Department of Park and Recreation, Division of Urban Forestry, is seeking proposals from qualified individuals to provide recurring, field-based safety training and mentorship for Urban Forestry staff. The selected trainer will focus exclusively on safety, skill development, and mentorship while City crews conduct their normal duties. The trainer will provide hands-on instruction, reinforce safety protocols, and guide designated staff members as they build confidence and consistency in safe aerial operations. • Demonstrating and coaching SRT/SRS climbing systems, ascent techniques, and work positioning • Reinforcing ANSI Z133 safety principles, hazard identification, and risk-mitigation practices • Supervising controlled climbing activities during divisional park operations • Guiding staff on aerial movement, limb-walking, and safe workflow habits • Introducing foundational aerial rescue concepts as appropriate • Providing periodic feedback to supervisors on staff progress and training needs The contract term for service will be one-year with the option to renew for an additional one-year term. Over the contract term, the selected consultant shall provide between eight (8) and twenty-four (24) hours of training per week during approximately twenty (20) weeks of training and mentorship service.
