Description

The Township of Parsippany‑Troy Hills is seeking a qualified contractor to remove, transport, and properly dispose of spent granular activated carbon (GAC) from its facilities and to supply and reinstall custom‑reactivated GAC as a replacement. The work requires compliance with New Jersey hazardous‑waste statutes, coordination of waste‑transport logistics, disposal at an approved site, and installation of new carbon media to restore filtration systems. This is a sealed‑bid solicitation with a $75 fee for bid documents and a single submission deadline. • Remove all spent granular activated carbon from designated municipal sites. • Transport the hazardous material to an approved disposal facility in accordance with NJ S 10:5‑31 and NJ AC 17:27. • Dispose of the spent carbon per state and local environmental regulations. • Supply and install custom‑reactivated granular activated carbon to replace the removed media. • Submit sealed bids by April 29, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at the Purchasing Office.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $250,000

No contract value is disclosed, but similar municipal hazardous‑waste removal and carbon‑media replacement projects typically range from $100,000 to $250,000 depending on the volume of carbon, distance to the disposal site, and cost of the reactivated media. The estimate assumes a moderate‑size system (several tons of GAC) and standard disposal fees plus material costs.
