Budget estimate

$5,000 – $11,000

Based on the County’s estimate of roughly 70 tons of scrap metal generated annually, the initial six‑month period would likely involve about 35 tons. Historical market rates for mixed metal scrap range from $150 to $300 per ton, depending on metal composition and market conditions. Assuming the contractor bids competitively within this range, expected revenue would be approximately 35 tons × $150 = $5,250 at the low end and 35 tons × $300 = $10,500 at the high end. Extensions could double or triple the volume, raising potential earnings proportionally. Costs for labor, fuel, equipment, and insurance will reduce net profit, but the gross budget estimate for the base contract is therefore $5‑11 K.
