Anamax Park Gardener - Contract Services

The Town of Sahuarita is seeking a qualified part-time Gardener to provide gardening, maintenance, and community support services for the Anamax Victory Garden. The selected Contractor will serve as the primary steward of the garden by maintaining a healthy, productive, and welcoming environment for community gardeners, volunteers, visitors, and park patrons. The Contractor shall work collaboratively with Town staff, volunteers, and community members to support the continued success of the Victory Garden while fostering a positive and inclusive community atmosphere. Key responsibilities include garden operations and maintenance, irrigation and water management, pest and wildlife management, garden administration, community engagement, and volunteer coordination. The ideal candidate will possess a Master Gardener Certification (or equivalent experience), demonstrated experience in horticulture, gardening, landscape maintenance, or community garden management, and knowledge of Arizona gardening practices, irrigation systems, soil management, and seasonal planting. • The Contractor shall provide routine garden maintenance performed in accordance with seasonal horticultural best practices. • The Contractor shall provide monthly inspection reports summarizing garden conditions, completed maintenance activities, irrigation issues, pest concerns, and recommended improvements. • The Contractor shall provide an annual maintenance plan identifying seasonal priorities and anticipated maintenance activities. • The Contractor shall coordinate volunteer events and document volunteer participation. • The Contractor shall provide recommendations for capital improvements, repairs, equipment replacement, and operational enhancements. • The Contractor shall provide budget recommendations for annual operating supplies, equipment, and maintenance needs.
