The United States Space Force (USSF), Space Systems Command, Servicing, Mobility, and Logistics (SSC/SYD80) Program Office, is seeking information on technical concepts and approaches to Refueling Services for prepared clients in orbit. The goal is to support warfighter needs through on-orbit servicing, including refueling, as an enabling technology for the Sustained Space Maneuver need of U.S. Space Command. Industry solutions for refueling of National Security Space assets equipped with standard interfaces are sought to meet sustained space maneuver (SSM) needs by 2030.
Key aspects of the solution include:
• The ability to dock with and transfer propellant through standard refueling interfaces bi-directionally
• Top-level cost and schedule estimates for advancing the Space Vehicle (SV) to first flight and for recurring production of subsequent units
• Performance parameters of the SV, including design lifespan, mass, volume envelope, hosted payload, and total delta-v
• Compatibility with client vehicle requirements, such as active RPOD, ability to manufacture and qualify Space Vehicle(s) that are capable of being integrated into standard government and commercial launch vehicle interfaces, and compliance with industry standards and best practices for on-orbit servicing
• Ground system and ground architecture to support operations and maintenance of SV
• Nominal CONOPS for day-to-day operations and execution of refueling missions
