2026 Weed Control Services

The City of Cortez is seeking a qualified contractor to provide weed control services for the City Parks Department, Golf Course, Public Works, and Municipal Airport. The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all personnel, services, equipment, and materials necessary for the execution of the work specified in the Advertisement for Bids. The services must be carried out by individuals licensed in the State of Colorado to perform herbicide application services. The contractor will be expected to deliver various weed control services through the application of herbicides, employing best management practices and integrated wildlife management techniques. • The contractor will be responsible for field verification of all materials and accessories. • The contractor will be required to provide a detailed staffing plan and identify the time commitments and current office locations of key management personnel. • The contractor will be required to describe their company's safety program and provide their company's safety record over the last ten years. • The contractor will be required to demonstrate their ability to use domestically produced goods in the project. • The contractor will be given preference if they are a local vendor, with a 2.5% preference for businesses located within the City Limits and a 2.0% preference for businesses located in Montezuma County but not in City Limits.
