The Bridge Investment Program (BIP) is soliciting applications for Large Bridge Project grants, which are projects with total eligible costs greater than $100 million. The program aims to provide funding for the remaining available amounts of BIP funding provided by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act for FY 2023 through FY 2026, totaling up to $9.62 billion. The FHWA will solicit applications for the other two BIP project categories in a subsequent NOFO: Planning and Bridge Project.
• Eligible applicants include States, metropolitan planning organizations, units of local government, special purpose districts, Federal Land Management Agencies, Tribal governments, and multistate or multijurisdictional groups of entities.
• The application period is open, and applications must be submitted electronically through grants.gov by the specified deadlines for each fiscal year.
• The FHWA will evaluate applications and provide feedback within 90 days of the application submittal date.
• Awards will be made after the application deadline, and applicants are encouraged to submit applications in advance of the deadline.
